Alister has dabbled in the past with a bit of open water swimming in events such as the Southsea Pier to Pier race - but nothing on the scale of a Channel swim.
During his 8 years in the Royal Navy, Alister has represented them in many swimming competitions........all of which have been in the comfort of nice warm swimming pools!
In the build up to the Cross Channel Relay Alister has competed at the Inter-Services swimming competition held in RAF Cranwell for the Royal Navy and for the Combined Services.
Later this year Alister is part of a Royal Navy team who are competing in the European Masters Swimming Championships in Slovenia, at the end of August
Outside of work Alister spends a lot of time chasing after his 22 month old son and supporting his wife who is currently putting all her efforts into growing child number 2 which is due in November.
Alister is currently working in the Fleet HQ in Portsmouth as the head of Environmental Health for the Royal Navy.
